Wellbeing Program
The wellbeing of our students and staff is central to our ethos at Knowl Hill School.
The coloration between wellbeing and academic successes undeniable. Underpinning wellbeing is the development of resilience.
Many of our children arrive with anxiety. Our approach is to face anxieties, to provide support for children through our pastoral and therapy team as they make their way through the challenge zone, as well as to identify and recover students who for one reason or another have slipped beyond this point.
Our school has wellbeing threaded into all of its systems but specifically there is a wellbeing slot timetabled every morning. These sessions are there to underline the importance of this aspect of our provision as well as to offer opportunities to program focused activities. Our wellbeing program centres around the “Think about, Talk about, Our time” Program by Pete Harvey in which all staff are trained. The program publications are ages specific and offer topical discussion points and a system of respect and inclusion with key greetings, random pairings and valued feedback.
