Junior School Teacher
Are you looking to spend more time being a creative inspiration to your pupils instead of marking papers? Do you want to be a part of a small and exciting community? Then we want to hear from you.
We have an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, inspirational Teacher to join our calm, nurturing school in Surrey.
We are an independent specialist school offering students with specific learning difficulties SPLD e.g. dyslexia, an environment in which they can thrive. Our pupils are passionate and well behaved with a thirst for knowledge that we want to grow, and we want to help reach their potential.
We provide an excellent working environment with small class sizes of 6-8 pupils, onsite Speech & Language and Occupational Therapists who work in the classrooms alongside teaching staff and 16 weeks a year school holiday.
As an independent school, our students do not sit year 6 SATs . We use our own continuous assessment system as we teach the mainstream national curriculum which is adapted to meet the needs of our students. We feel this creates a less stressful environment for both teachers and students.
Our school has been rated Good by Ofsted and we continue to thrive and grow with our creative teaching approaches and respectful pupils.
Knowl Hill School is looking for an applicant with a proven track record of high expectations and attainment for learners in their care. You will initially be based in the lower school (years 4-6) but experience of or ability to teach students up to secondary level would be an advantage. Ideally, you will have an interest and an enthusiasm for teaching Functional Skills English. Experience teaching pupils with SEND either in mainstream or SEND settings would be desirable, but not essential as training will be given.
We have a fantastic team that are driven and passionate about our pupil's learning journey and we encourage you to apply if you are ready to expand your career and experience creative freedom in a nurturing and warm environment.
